Worked on a 2012 XC70
If you're having trouble with this, you need to take your fingers off the buttons while the info light is flashing but before you hear a bong sound.

Hi, My key operating range suddenly decreased from about 100 feets to only two feet. Battery is ok. This occurred with the 2 keys.
Any advise? Does the car have an antenna to receive the key signal?

Do what Terrance said. Work on my sisters 2012 S60. The i Kept flashing 5 times and tone went off. But message stayed and showed a 163 in the display. Followed his tip and message is gone.

This tip worked for me. There's another video here on youtube but there is said to just push the start button once along with the reset button (after turning the ignition ON) and that did not work for me. You said to push and hold both of them and this worked. Thanks! I had a couple of other messages and maybe this was the case.
