**”Our daily waste”** is the first food waste project of its kind. It documents the food waste of one family of four, through one year. All food waste was photographed, dissected, weighed and sorted into different categories – every single day. All the data from the measurements were meticulously collected and entered to form the final results.
This project has made it possible to show exactly how much food waste a family produces and how much this cost every day, week, month and year. In addition we can see how much of each food group and product is wasted, why its thrown away and when.
Today, one-third of all the food produced in the world goes to waste – 1.3 billion tons of wasted food that could have been eaten. Food waste isn’t just a social and humanitarian concern—it’s an environmental one. 8% of all human-caused greenhouse gas emissions could be reduced if we stop wasting food.
Every day and every picture of “Our Daily Waste” is a little story in itself – and hopefully an inspiration to throw less food and make a large impact!
Each week 10-20 new images will be published and available for sale.
