Vice President for Strategic Planning, Performance – Arab Potash

The VP will play a critical role in helping the CEO achieve the company’s strategic objectives. This person will drive a results-oriented approach setting performance targets and help holding functional units accountable for meeting those targets. 

The VP will be responsible for the successful execution of the Arab Potash Company’s strategic plan by identifying process transformation, key technologies, investment plans, and then create programs to drive change successfully. The role will require undertaking significant amount of complex information gathering, analysis, directing and monitoring operational business performance, review budgets, development of business performance metrics, and bringing innovation across the company in order to meet business goals.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Establish governance frameworks on strategy implementation, and progress which will be presented to the CEO and Company board members.

  • Develop sub-strategies which are aligned with the company’s main strategy including operations, marketing, human resources, IT, procurement ... etc.

  • Define objectives, frameworks, and metrics for the strategic planning and implementation process, and establish ownerships and timelines.

  • Monitor strategy execution of special projects and other initiatives according to highly defined standards.

  • Determine operating and functional performance standards across the company, and develop evaluation metrics and lead reviews.

  • Collaborate with finance, business unit leaders, to develop and manage strategy implementation, budgeting and cost estimation approaches, resource allocation, and reallocation.

  • Build a strong operating framework to support business operations and adherence to internal standards and strategies.

  • Spearhead efforts to identify issues and root causes of data discrepancies, driving data quality into the process.

  • Establish and use metrics to demonstrate operational excellence and lead organizational change and innovation.

  • Use market, financial, and operations research to guide and measurably improve the Company’s growth and performance.

Ensure that projects investments and initiatives are aligned with business strategy and priorities and continuously re-prioritize programs and projects based on changing functional needs, resource capacity constraints, risk exposure, and interdependencies
