PUBLIC RELATIONS/AUDIO-VISUAL/DIGITAL OFFICER – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)

ABOUT THE ICRC 
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We act in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.
PURPOSE OF THE POST
The public relation, audio-visual and digital officer contributes to developing and implementing the delegation’s strategy on communication, aimed at enhancing acceptance of the ICRC, the NS and the Movement in Jordan. He/she is the focal point for all public communication activities in the delegation in coordination with the management and under the supervision of the Communication coordinator. S/he leads on defining the delegation's messages and content generation planning in order to enhance and manage the delegation's profile in the media and through public channels. S/he advises the delegation on public communication issues, opportunities and challenges and contributes to the implementation of the public engagement and digital strategies.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Public communication: 
Contributes to the annual PFR exercise, MFR, institutional and internal reporting within deadlines
Represents the ICRC externally, organizes com events and follows up on administrative and financial issues
Supports the coordinator and team on developing and implementing the communication strategy/action plan.  Provides coaching, guidance, to concerned staff on relevant themes
Advises on communication opportunities, for ICRC and /or the movement to ensure coherent positioning.
Monitors and analyses perception/acceptance of ICRC
Plans, arranges and implements field missions (reporters, photographers, AV; TV, RCC, etc).
Supports the communication officer in the Sub-delegation and the communication team in Amman
Acts as a spokesperson for local, regional and international media in Arabic and English
Drafts news releases, reactive press lines, Q&A, and any other relevant public communication tool.
Provides support to JRCS in building public communication capacity and smooth coordination
Maintains and develops the network of media local, regional, international; freelance writers, public relation officers in other humanitarian institutions, social media influencers to promote ICRC's activities

Digital:
Using accepted best practices, develops digital projects, leads on content identification, gathering and execution and engagement with priority audiences.
Creates, edits, repurposes and publishes a wide variety of engaging content for Al-insani, digital channels. 
Ensures accurate, timely and effective delivery of digital content
Audio visual (AV) production:
Plans, produces, promotes and distributes video and photo content externally and on ICRC platforms
Develops and maintains a network of external contacts with support of logistics
Keeps abreast of technological developments with specific expertise on audio-visual related hardware
Contributes to analysing content trends, new media and technical innovations
Manages the delegation’s video and photo library archive and com material
