What currency should I take to Kuwait?
Kuwait, not without reason called the treasure of the Persian Gulf, is a small country located in the southwestern part of Asia, on the northwest coast of the previously mentioned Gulf. The state delights tourists with its rapidly growing technological industry, which enabled the emergence of the artificial coast at the end of the last century. Coasts with delightful yacht ports, charming promenades, or a large number of service venues where everyone will find something for themselves – from original Kuwaiti dishes to amusement parks. Trip to Kuwait is really guaranteed attractions. Before traveling, however, each of us should be interested in such a topic as money in Kuwait and make sure what currency to take to Kuwait?
The current Kuwait monetary unit ( currency in Kuwait ) is the Kuwaiti Dinar . The international standard (three-letter currency code) ISO 4217 for the Kuwaiti Dinar is KWD .
The currently used currency of Kuwait – the Kuwaiti dinar – was put into circulation in 1968. Thus, it replaced the Indian rupee previously used within the Persian Gulf. At that time, one Kuwaiti dinar was equivalent to one pound sterling.
In 1990, Kuwait was attacked by Iraqi troops. One of the effects of the neighboring country’s invasion of Kuwait was the introduction of a new currency. It was the Iraqi dinar, which remained in use until the liberation of the state. After regaining independence, the Kuwait authorities again restored the name of the country’s official monetary unit to the Kuwaiti dinar. In connection with the theft of a significant amount of banknotes during the invasion of Iranian troops, a new series of banknotes was introduced into circulation.

During our stay in Kuwait, we will be able to use credit cards in larger urban centers, supermarkets, hotels and other service outlets. However, it should be taken into account that when we decide to go to a smaller, provincial town, there may be a problem with this form of payment due to the lack of a terminal. When it comes to the availability of ATMs, we will be able to come across them in larger cities around banks, shopping centers or larger supermarkets. However, we must remember about the commission charged for currency conversion if we are not account holders in a foreign currency.
In the event that we decide to make future payments using cash, we should obtain it before leaving. This is because in Kuwaiti exchange offices we will have a problem with the exchange of Polish zlotys. Before buying cash in Poland, vacationers often wonder whether it is better to buy Kuwaiti dinars, euros or dollars?
In addition to the most popular tourist regions or service establishments located at the largest and most frequented routes, it is difficult to talk about the possibility of paying with a currency other than the one in force in the territory of the visited country. You can naturally bring US dollars or, in the second place, euros to Kuwait. Nevertheless, it is almost certain that we will simply have to exchange this currency in the nearby exchange office for Kuwaiti dinars. This is not the most cost-effective and recommended option by us. It is definitely better to buy Kuwaiti dinars still in Poland, although it is not easy to obtain the currency. It can be found only at selected currency exchange points.
Tavex currency exchange offers one of the richest currency tables in Poland – we already sell over 60 currencies from around the world! What’s more, most currencies are always available immediately, unlike other exchange points in the country where you often have to wait several days for your order.
The Warsaw currency exchange office Tavex naturally also offers Kuwaiti dinars. In order to obtain information about the current exchange rate of Kuwaiti dinars, we encourage you to use the currency table in the Kantor Warszawa Centrum tab . Świętokrzyska 32 (free option). Mail order sales of currencies are described in detail in the “Currency with home delivery “- we highly recommend this form of currency purchase!
For those people who can be in the center of Warsaw within 1 hour, it is also possible to book the current course. Then the currency can be paid for and picked up at the branch without placing an order online. However, as mentioned above, booking is only possible for 1 hour. It is therefore more convenient to place a normal order online, with 24-hour delivery or collection at any time after payment, i.e. making a transfer.
The prices in Kuwait, which the table below presents, are the only illustrative values. From year to year, from month to month, prices in every country in the world fluctuate more or less, at least because of inflation, i.e. the decline in the value of money. Added to this are our preferences, such as shopping and cooking yourself, or eating at restaurants, as well as many more factors. All this makes it difficult to clearly and confidently determine what money in Kuwait will provide us a peaceful rest. When planning your holiday budget, please do not treat the prices as the absolute and sole source. Instead, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with them so that you know what costs to expect and how many dinars to take to Kuwait .

There is no direct air connection between Poland and Kuwait. However, it is possible to reach Kuwait from many major cities around the world, which we can get by cheap flights. The cities most often chosen by tourists from Poland, constituting the first stage of the journey on the territory of Kuwait, include Amsterdam, London, Paris and Frankfurt. If we intend to spend our vacation around the capital, the best option would be to choose the country’s largest international airport Kuwait International Airport, located about 16 km south of the capital.
Kuwait belongs to a group of countries having its national airline, which in this country is called Kuwait Airways and serves all airports located on the territory of the country. In addition, flights to Kuwait are offered by foreign airlines, including British Airways, Lufthansa, KLM, Emirates, Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways. Regular ticket prices fluctuate around 2000-4000 PLN, depending on the date when we decide to travel.
