Is it normal for the service light to stay on for a couple minutes and then go off on its own? If so will this reset procedure fix the light from staying on for a couple minutes? I have a 1999 Volvo S80 T6. I am 99% positive I did not do the reset after the oil change lol
Hello , I plugged a computer into the main plug because engine management light kept staying on , green light on main socket came on of course , but must of had the ignition off when using the tester , because the green light turned off , now the indicators and main beam head lights don't work , took the leads of the battery for a while ,that solved the engine management problem but the indicators and main beam head lights still don't work , I was told it was something to do with a modual to do with the lights , my car is a volvo s80 2002 right hand drive , I would appreciate some advice , Thanks ,,,,,, Patrick .
I have a 2000 Volvo s80 T6; Do you know anything about the anti skid, ABS and brake light when all three comes on the vehicle shows a brake failure warning, then all of my dash board clocks stop working except the fuel gauge. What's the solution to that anyone can help let me know

For my car (02 S80) the following sequence worked Turn to position one== press the reset button == count for 2 seconds=== switch the ignition key to second position=== let go of the reset button WHILE the Engine service light is flashing. Wallla… problem solved.

You can't use a second hand rear-view mirror. It's one-time-programmed to the car and can't be reprogrammed to another car. If there was a problem with your glass (the lava effect), then use your own PCB inside the mirror with the spare glass. There is a threat in matthewvolvosite about this. Check it. (I can't post links here)
On my S80 2002 I did it like this;
1: key switch in 1 position and press and hold the trip-meter.
2: Turn the ignition key to position 2, keeping the trip-meter pressed.
3: If you keep an eye on the trip meter it will go to zero and than after few sec it will show the previous value,
4: Then release the trip meater button and a you should hear a beep.
The important part is to keep an eye on the trip meter and when the value changes, after 10 secs or so, then let go.
My radio is completely out. Do you know how I would be able to somehow reset it? I was told that a fuse may be blown out and that I may have to have my radio completely taken out to replace the fuse.
my s40 2lt d service light is sill showing up after trying it, it flashes when I press the trip but no beep when I take my finger off.is it because its been chipped.thanks

CLOSE. …..You need to release the trip meter button on fifth blink of the SERVICE light.

I don't think it;s different. Sometimes it takes me several tries as well. You may need to have the trip counter on A–can't remember.
I tried this method several times. I couldn't get it to reset. I have a 2002 S80. Do you think it's different for that year?
